wow it has been amazing and such a whirlwind in this short time i've been here! I had to pause and remember we have only been gone for 2 days but it seems like sooo much longer ah wow (and I know i've used the word twice already in the two sentences i've written but it is pretty much how I feel). Everything is so pretty and amazing just walking around the streets and seeing the architecture and hearing the amazing accents :]
Yesterday was a supper busy day looking back it seems like more than one day. So trying to make this shorter I'll sum it up. I got to London and it took me an hr to get off my plane and onto the underground to take me to victoria station and I was going to walk from there to our bnb/ hostelish place to meet erin. Once I arrived at victoria station i got to walk along buckingham palace rd towards our hostel. Then as i'm aweing at the surroundings and trying not to run people over with my suitcase I hear someone yell my name! Then like it was from a movie I see erin across the street and then we had a lovely reuniting.
Because we only had a day we did a lot of walking to get a feel for the city and see as much as we could. We first did the tour of Buckingham Palace b.c erin and i both love palaces and it was BEAUTIFUL!! we then meandered along heading towards the direction of the water. On our wonderings we happened upon a little bazaar type thing at an old church, got erin her phone, then finally got to trafalger square which was incredibly crowded sooo many tourists and people just hanging out. We then took great pictures there on the huge lions and met some other tourists who we made friends with to take pictures of each other! We then kept on wandering heading towards big ben and parliament. After asking two people for directions just to make sure we were going the right way we found it in all its glory! aweing at the architecture we continued walking along accross the bridge towards the south side of the river, we stopped and got dinner crepes by the london eye and enjoyed some of the street performances.
Later that night we met up with some friends from Stanford who are from london and they showed us about!
The next day we got to see the changing of the guards at buckingham palace and then went to some tourist souvenir shops to get london postcards and what not. Then walking back to our hostel to get our luggage we stopped in at one of londons famous young fashion shops..top shop where we fell in love with almost everything but restrained ourselves and didnt buy any thing...yet :]
we then had to trugg our luggage to the train station and make our way back to the airport. we were amazed at how high tech and fancy looking the british airways terminal was and before our flight we even had time to grab some famous london fish and chips at hadleys. Finally after a short hour flight we arrived in edinburgh and made our way to the bus that would take us to down town. Once we entered the city we were so amazed by the castels in the distance and all of the old buildings. Getting off the bus we called the girl sara we were going to meet up with and she said she was downtown as well and then i saw a few feet ahead of us a girl talking on her phone and what do you know it was her!
We then went to her apartment and met her two other roomates and spent the late afternoon hanging out with them and ordering in their favorite indian food! That was pretty much the night I feel so grateful to be here and able to see all of this. Im excited to get to know sara and her friends as well they seem pretty cool!
Hope all is well at home and in your own lives, update next time I can get internet.
